Lilacs

Lilacs were among Jewett’s favorite flowers and lilac bushes still grace the front of the house as they did in her day. Traveling back and forth between Boston and Manchester, Massachusetts, where she lived with her partner Annie Fields, Jewett remarked that she felt upon her return, these lilac bushes opening their arms to welcome her home.
